Around Everyday Kindness

I am amazed. Our little group has already completed more than 350 acts of kindness this year. That’s almost as many as one person could do for a year. Wow. (Standing ovation)

While continuing to make their daily commitment, we have a few people who probably won’t let us know what they are doing. That’s absolutely fine. Each person takes their commitment where they find it. And that’s cool.

Here are some of the kind acts done by our group:

 • Jill, at Another Day in the same life, joined us last week by thanking her difficult boss for being unusually nice.
 • Believer in Balance has just returned from a computer induced exile without killing the unhelpful computer technician.
 • Harlekwin at Bohemian Rapsedy is beginning to return to herself with self kind acts like starting the South Beach diet and getting a fabulous hair cut.
 • Conspiracy of Blessings realizes that this journey for her right now is about learning to be kind to herself. In her own words: “Being kind to my self is a significant aspect of my personal evolution right now, especially regarding my health. Every day that I choose health through my eating and activity choices is a day of great kindness to myself. Every day that I willingly sit with the discomfort that arises from not engaging in my eating addiction is a day of great kindness to myself; especially days that include small steps towards integrating my shadow. Although my inner critic tells me it’s totally self-centered (in a bad way) to count up kindnesses to myself, I’m going to be open to it.” Yay!
 • Forks off the Moment offered a kind word to a woman struggling with her new exercise routine. Her kind encouragement helped the woman continue to improve her health and her life.
 • Squirrelly continues to amuse and educated us by sharing his love of the Two Ronnies.
 • Small Town RN at A place I call home is practicing kindness by encouraging us to look at our values in her blog posts.
 • Sacred Ruminations is supportive and encouraging a friend who is studying the course of miracles.
 • Vixen made beautiful scarves for a few of her friends.
 • Waking up in Portland created an intention to let the people in her life know that she thought something kind and nice about them. (Great idea, huh?)

We added three new members this week. Jill at Another day in the same life, Christie at One step from the edge and Jeni at Down River Drivel joined this week. If you get a chance, stop by and show them some love.

Please remember to keep Odat in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to muddle through the first weeks after her husband’s death.
