Everyday Kindness

Simply kind every day

Today, yes, today

January 17th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Yesterday I was able to do tiny gestures.  I gave an elderly couple my parking space.  I let people cut in line.  I didn’t swear at the person who cut me off. I even helped an upset friend in trouble.

Then came today.  A nasty comment on my MySpace page and I’m grumbling.  The kindest thing I did today?  I used Temptation Blocker to block off the Internet so I could restore my mood and get a few things taken care of.  By the time it went off 3 hours later, my good mood returned.  I was able to make time for a couple people who needed my help RIGHT NOW.

Gosh, I’m learning a lot.  How about you?

First off, never let anything on Myspace bother you. I have a page and enjoy meeting up with Craig Ferguson fans and finding new music BUT a whole lot of folks over there are just, well - troubled :)

I had an “ah-ha” moment and in part it was thanks to your blog. I’ve always loved the concept of Pay it Forward and random acts of kindness but often felt silly about practicing the concept.

So basically I was ruining something good for myself. I’ve tried to explain this in the latest post on my blog and I hope it’s OK that I have displayed your banner and linked your blog.

    Thanks :)
